23 young people from all over Switzerland, an Ascension Day weekend filled with fellowship, sports, and deep reflection. And plenty of God. For many, this year’s Beachvolley Change Camp was far more than just a sports camp.

Although some participants didn’t know each other at all beforehand, an incredibly strong and genuine sense of community developed right from the first day. There was plenty of laughter, play, training, and discussion. But there were also honest conversations about personal issues. For many, the small groups and spontaneous conversations in between were particular highlights. People opened their hearts, problems were addressed, and many experienced encouragement, healing, and new hope.
It was impressive how tangibly God was at work during those days. Many people’s faith was renewed, and some were inspired to become more actively involved in the Christian community. Deep friendships were formed and there were touching moments that will surely continue to have an impact for a long time to come.
The camp was also a complete success from a sports perspective. No one got injured, and everything ran smoothly from an organizational standpoint—despite the rather cold and rainy weather. Instead of warmth and sunshine, we often had to play beach volleyball indoors this year rather than outside. The atmosphere remained great nonetheless, and at the closing tournament in the Bern arena, everyone was able to give it their all one last time.
One participant, who was attending for the third time, said after the camp: “For me, this year’s BVC was the most impactful one yet. The camp came at exactly the right time in my life, and I was able to experience God on an incredibly deep level. I had a genuine encounter with Him, and I’m extremely grateful for this time.”
That’s exactly why we’re doing the BVC. And we continue to pray that God will stay with each and every person and allow what has begun during these days to continue to grow.
