God is still at work today!

It was a day filled with gratitude, wonder, and fellowship. This year’s general meeting of the msd mission organization reminded us once again: God is at work—more quietly than we expected, more faithfully than we imagined.

Bernard Bucyana kicked things off, not by presenting us with numbers or reports, but with a spiritual message. He took us on a journey back to our vision: Connected to God and people. Filled with Jesus. Sent to people. In a time when it’s easy to get lost in the daily grind, it was a valuable moment to pause and ask: What do we stand for? Where is God leading us? This focus gave the entire day a deep foundation—and set the stage for everything that was to follow.

Astrid Oester then presented some figures that we could all wholeheartedly celebrate together. The past year was a very good one for msd financially—and that is by no means a given. We are grateful and truly amazed at how God is at work in this area as well. This foundation gives us confidence and the freedom to act as we look to the future. Raphael Graf, Head of Web Projects, followed up on this and opened our eyes to work that often happens behind the scenes. He showed us the multitude of websites developed, maintained, and managed by msd. What may sound technical at first is, in reality, service to people: digital doors that stand open—for everyone who is searching, asking questions, or in need of help.

Mascha Surbeck then took us on a journey into the world of Change Camps—and she did so with a joy that was contagious. Through a series of photos and snapshots, she brought the past camp season to life: fellowship, sports, encounters with God, and transformed hearts. These memories showed just why this work is so valuable, and the anticipation for the upcoming camps was palpable in the room.

The most moving moment of the day came right at the end—and it wasn’t planned. Two members of msd, who will be launching and supporting various church-planting projects in Switzerland, were spontaneously blessed. Together, we entrusted them to God’s care and blessed them. It was a quiet yet powerful sign: We are sending people out—not alone, but supported by prayer and fellowship.

The 2026 General Assembly was a day that reminded us why we do what we do. We look back on God’s faithfulness—and forward with confidence. Thank you to everyone who attended and who makes this work possible through prayer, input, and support.
